Rotary Minute: Watch Rotary's new program "People of Action" campaign. Program: TCAPS currently has 33 students in the "Sci-Ma-Tech" program. Sophie and Elizabeth spoke about the program from a girls perspective. Sci-Ma-Tech students are enrolled in Advanced Science, Advanced Math and Technology courses. According to Sophie and Elizabeth because students with this common interest make learning more interesting. They are always challenging themselves and each other to do better. The young ladies showed us their latest robot and gave Rotarians a chance to run it. Currently robotic teams are at the elementary, middle and high schools. GM donated 5 Robotic Kits at a cost of $2000 each to the Sci-Ma-Tech students. TCAPS would like to expand Sci-Ma-Tech program through out the local schools. Currently Cherry Knoll has 2 teams, Central Grade School has 2 teams, both Middle Schools have a class and an extra curricular time, both Central and West High School have teams. Did you know that Rotarian Angelo Vozza has coached a Robotics Team for 9 years? In March 2018 you can find several teams from around the state competing at TC Central HS.
