What You Missed
July 18, 2018: President Gary Brown (in lieu of cancelled planned speaker)
Prior to his talk, Gary shared a graph on the history of TC Sunrise membership from July 2016 (graph started at 71 members, we’re now at 58). He challenged us to be proactive about recruiting and it meshed nicely with Lindsey’s Rotary Minute activity that reminded all of us of why we enjoy our TC Sunrise Club.
Classification Talk Revisited – from the response of the room, many folks had not heard Gary’s original talk. We were treated to Gary’s humor! He shared his story and his plans for the future: Adventure, Extraordinary relationships, Passionate living.

Gary’s challenge to the club:
  • Increase annual membership to 65
  • Start a community-based Rotaract group
  • New chairperson for Raffle Committee needed
  • New chairperson for Global Service Committee needed
  • Establish a fund raising committee/effort to raise at least $10,000 for operating expenses/foundation
  • Start one or more new service projects
    • Focused on a new member interest
    • Focused on an existing member’s interest
  • Double our Happy Dollars
  • Reignite our student of the month and scholarships
  • Sponsor a young person sports team
  • Increase our visibility in the community
  • Keep doing everything else
Suggestion by our rebound student to do something with our incoming group inbound students and international student focus.
