Rotary District 6290 Governor Dave Thomas exhorted our club and club leadership to consider how we want to make a difference as a club. What is it that we want to be known for and can realistically accomplish in this year.
His presentation to us highlighted the following four items:
- Rotary International Foundation support and what that means for the world.
- Growing membership
- The importance of youth in our clubs
- Managing our club's brand in the community, "Does it sparkle? Do people know what we do?"
In the "after meeting" with club leadership, Dave shared that he had the opportunity with all district presidents challenge them to own the role of casting vision make it a priority for energizing each club. He tasked them with “Three things that will make your club better.”
Our board affirmed President Adam’s goals for the club for this year.
Dave encouraged all leaders and interested members to take advantage of district training. And, reminded us all that Rotary clubs need to be reinventing the ways we meeting and gather or do service. “That’s really what it’s all about.”
