  1. Rotary funds ($12,752) were invested as follows:

    • Education (fees, scholastic materials, UNEB registration fees) - $5,863
    • Food Sustenance (feeding, charcoal) - $3,760
    • Accomodation (rent and utilities) - $1,460
    • Medical (general health) - $252
    • Administrative Expenses (stationary, transportation) - $584
    • Other Expenses (toiletries) - $833

  2. Debra, the eldest Bitone girl, is in her third semester at Kampala International University. She recently won an award from her class for her academic standing.

  3. Bitone Executive Director, Branco Sekalegga, was been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. He is currently in the United States (Connecticut) attending Wesleyan University where he is studying music. In the interim Bitone is in good hands under the direction of Hassan's (partner) brother and others.

  4. Rotary Club of Kampala East is still heavily involved with respect to grant fund distribution, as well as serving as an advisor.

  5. Rotary International visited Bitone and, as a result, have developed a brief documentary for publication at their website and in the Rotarian.

  6. Bitone has started its own fundraising efforts, now that they are officially established as an NGO. Through the 'Global Giving Challenge' they have raised over $10,000.

  7. Bitone have released their first CD which is the most personal and unique expression of the children, while also serving as an additional fundraising source.
