Oct. 10, 2020 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Sunrise Rotarian, Sue Cronover, has presented us with the fantastic volunteer opportunity to be a part of a Habitat for Humanity home build!
Location: Williamsburg, MI.
Date: Saturday, October 10
Time: 9 am to 2 pm.
Everyone wears closed toe shoes, brings water bottle, lunch/snacks, face masks, etc.
Habitat will provide all the tools (sanitized), COVID-19 safety practices/health screening prior to starting working that day, hand sanitizer, etc.
Please see the following message from our friend and fellow Rotarian, Sue Cronover, regarding the Habitat for Humanity home build volunteer opportunity:
Unfortunately due to rain, we had to cancel our scheduled volunteer date on 9/12/2020 to help with the Habitat for Humanity build. We have a rescheduled date and I am hoping you will join me to have some fun helping a family in need and volunteering to help build their home!
I am challenging you to join me on October 10, 2020, 9 am to 2 pm, to help with one of our Habitat Home Builds. We will either be working in Williamsburg (8747 Streamview Lane, Williamsburg MI 49690, off of Vinton Road) or helping with some renovations (think Property Brothers or Fixer Upper!) at a recently donated home near Chums Corners (789 Valley View Dr, TC 49685).
Our Project Manager will let me know closer to the volunteer date of where and what we will be doing for that Saturday. I will e-mail all the signed up volunteers from our group as soon as I hear from him.
What an amazing opportunity to help a family in need in our community! I heard there were several in our group that could not volunteer the last date because they were busy, but that would like to help out. Because of COVID, we are looking for 4 people to sign up with me for Saturday, 10/10/2020. Please send me an e-mail or feel free to text or call, 231-944-8401, for easy instructions of how to sign up on our website.
Thank you and God Bless,
Sue

Holding our government accountable
Oct. 21, 2020 7:30 a.m.
Who's watching out for us? During these troubled times, it's easy to feel like the partisan world of government and politics have run amok. Thankfully we have the GAO. The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that examines how taxpayer dollars are spent and provide Congress and federal agencies with objective, reliable information to help the government save money and work more efficiently. |

Anti-Racism: How can I help?
Oct. 28, 2020 7:30 a.m.
"Anti-racism is the active process of identifying and eliminating racism by changing systems, organizational structures, policies and practices and attitudes, so that power is redistributed and shared equitably." - NAC International Perspectives: Women and Global Solidarity You may remember that Dan Russell joined us un August as a guest as we began our conversation about racial equity and social justice in our region. We're welcoming Dan back as our main speaker to help us explore how we can do our part as individuals, as community members, and as employees of local businesses and organizations, to advance learning and understanding around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. |

An Attitude of Gratitude!
Nov. 25, 2020 7:30 a.m.
Grab your stationary and favorite pen, it's time to get thankful! Research has shown that practicing gratitude improves overall mental health.
