"100% member participation in a water-based global service project in 2013"

That's it--the big, hairy audacious goal that came out of our 2009/2010 strategic planning efforts. What ensued is the creation of an energetic committee that includes 20% + of our club members. Their mission, which they chose to accept, is to guide us through the selection, funding and execution process.

Phase One of this process included creation of an RFP used to solicit program/project ideas in a consistent format. Initial list of projects that met our general guidelines were evaluated by teams that included committee member and member at large. Using a unified scoring system, the committee selected three finalists.

On October 19th, 2011 the three finalist projects were presented to the club membership at a special evening meeting of the club, held at Timber Ridge, Traverse City. These are exciting times . . .

Meet the finalists!

Using an anonymous on-line voting mechanism club members pledged their support for their preferred service project. By strong majority, the members chose a water-filter project in Honduras.
