Bulletin Buddy Note-Taking Form (also at front desk)

At any time don't be surprised if a new member offers to bump a designated Bulletin Buddy for 50/50 sales or note-taking opportunities. We know you will happily step aside to enable their progress against new member orientation program (red badge).

If you wish to be added to the rotation please contact the Club Secretary.

If a date you've been assigned is not convenient, we appreciate your initiative to exchange with a fellow Rotarian.

Announcements:

  • Lana from Croatia needs a ride from Grand Rapids to Traverse City on May 21 at 9am.  Is anyone available?
  • It was Kentucky Derby Weekend, so Maureen wore her fabulous derby-esque hat, and George showed us a trackside rendition of "My Old Kentucky Home".  After issues with the getting George's video to work, Tom suggested perhaps May should be "bring an IT professional" month.
  • Randy Kiessel became a grandfather with the birth of little Miles on May 2.  Congratulations Randy.
  • 2nd quarter invoices went out recently. Let Adam know if you didn't receive yours.
  • Kids Free Fishing Day is June 16th at Haggerty Center. Volunteers needed for both morning and afternoon shifts.

Guest Speaker Report:

It was Classification Talk Day at Sunrise Rotary this morning.

Noelle Moeggenberg kicked it off.  She's a prosecutor who was born and raised in Livonia, and moved to Traverse City in 1998 with her husband Ray, and had a lovely daughter Mia who is now 12 and a useless hunting dog, but fabulous running buddy Jesse.  She loves to be outside, and has done some serious distance running, having completed an ironman in ID in 2015.  Professionally, she specializes in domestic violence and sexual assault cases.  She is on the board and on the multi-disciplinary team at the Traverse Bay Childrens Advocacy Center.  She doesn't only work with the sexual abuse cases after they've happened, she is a part of PREVENTION through the Team Zero initiative with the mission to encourage and teach people to talk about sexual abuse.

Alex Zelinski was born at Munson and through his life has developed a very strong passion for this community.  He's been married to Jennifer (and her cat Belle) for 1 year.  They love to do things outside like kayaking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, biking and traveling.  At Hope College he was a part of an epic tug of war between the freshman and sophmores, both as a participant and a coach, and proudly capped his participation with his one and only win when he was the head coach his senior year.  His mother owns Paesanos, so he has a love of pizza.  He volunteers a lot, was the prom king, plays the drums, and once completely floored an unsuspecting burrito joint manager by eating a 4 pound burrito in 7 minutes.  He did it for the free t-shirt.  He is the new Director of Corporate Sponsorships for the Cherry Fest, and is super excited to be a part of this TC tradition.

Welcome Noelle and Alex!  We're thrilled to have you both in the club.
