Discover Center Great Lakes - Proposed Land Acquisition
John Noonan gave a brief update on the proposed purchase of the Coal Dock property in Greilickville. Rotary Charities has offered $1 million to purchase the property, and Rotary Camps & Services have pledged an additional $500k for basic improvements. A primary goal for this acquisition is to secure a permanent dockage facility for our tall ships.
The actual purchase price for the Coal Dock property is still being determined. A joint study session between the City of Traverse City and Traverse City Light and Power is planned for Monday, September 28th. John encourages public presence as a show of support.
