Program
Meryl Marsh and Randi Stolz -Will be leaving on May 20th to participate and run in the Run Across Congo.
May 24-30 2015, a 7-marathon, 7-day expedition along the shores of Lake Kivu in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo will raise awareness and funds for Project Congo, focused on the inspiring female coffee farmers, farming families and cooperatives working toward gender equality in the region.
Despite the challenges, female coffee producers in Eastern DRC have the perseverance to move forward. Project Congo will provide trans formative opportunities to these farmers by introducing practical initiatives supporting women’s empowerment at both farm and cooperative levels. Funds will be used to empower and educate female farmers to become entrepreneurs, taking control of their lives, and creating a brighter future for coffee communities affected by the civil war in eastern DRC.
